The state of Georgia houses 8 percent of its residents in incarcerated facilities to the tune of 189,000 inmates. Its biggest city, Atlanta is plagued with high percentages of its neighborhoods coping with the problem of incarceration. Unfortunately, like many cities its incarcerated citizens are disproportionately segregated by race. Out of the 25 neighborhood planning units, four of them which are predominately African African receives 25 percent of states returning citizens.

Fathers Incorporated has a history of providing services and trainings for justices systems. In 2015 we provided training for the New York State Department of Corrections and subsequently conducted our Gentle Warriors curriculum in three facilities. Currently Furthering Fathering is providing fatherhood workshops in the Rockdale Correctional. Five of our participating dads will be the recipients of the 2018 Holidad gifts.
